Before I go into the main topic, allow me to digress a bit.
The photos in my previous post was taken from my friend’s (Ah Sun) iPhone! He bought it in the US for about USD300! It’s cheap OK. I’m itching for the phone lol
Now let’s get into serious topic. Have you heard of Oasis Airline? It is a budget airline based in HK. Two days ago, this airline went bankrupt all of a sudden, leaving their passengers with their pants down. I know someone from my hostel is one of the victims. He bought a ticket back to London a few months ago and was left yelling ‘I want my money back’ together with hundreds of passengers at the airport.
You may ask why is this issue important?
The business nature of this company is similar to our own AirAsia. Recently I blog about AirAsia charging passengers for checking in their luggages. I see this as a sign of bad things to come! All airlines companies in the world are facing problem with increasing fuel price and are adjusting themselves to cope with this problem. This is just one of the many problems that airlines are facing right now.
Oasis Airlines actually made their maiden flight to London in October 2006 by introducing a ridiculous fare of HKD1000 each way, a strategy that AirAsia is sooooooo fond of using. I suppose from now onwards we need to pray that AirAsia will not end up like Oasis. I’m sure you do not want to be yelling “I WANT MY MONEY BACK” in the airport.
On a separate note, do you listen to Maroon5? They have released two albums thus far and all of their songs are about ‘breaking up’ lol. Here’s one that I love listening to:
How about OneRepublic? Another massive massive band:
