Attention female joggers along Hatton Road leading to The Peak,

If you decide to pee in the bush, please do it way far far inside. Don’t think I can’t see what you are doing :p

A friend of mine, Grace, suggested that I should start a blog when I arrive in HK. After delaying the idea for some time, today 24 March 2008, I decided to kick off my first post.

First of all, I would like to apologize to some of my friends for not informing them about my plan to come to HK and spend the next three miserable years as a student. I’ve been around for more than three months already. Life is pretty good. HK is a tiny island with a lot to offer. I shall blog more about this later, perhaps with some photos.

Some of you may wonder how’s my shelter aka room looks like? Well here’s a picture of my tiny room.

My Room

I live in a hostel known as Graduate House on campus. The room dimension is about 10.4 square metre with an attached bathroom but shared with another person next day. Whenever I need to use the toilet, I need to remind myself to look the door at the other side to avoid unnecessary embarrassment.

Toilet

Those toiletries are not mine. They belong to my neighbor.

Living on the 10th floor is like living in heaven. The hostel is the tallest building in the whole campus and I’m living on the second highest floor overlooking The Peak. How is it like living in heaven? Well, I just need to open the window and sleep for 10 hours :)

90% of the residents here are from mainland China. Therefore knowing Mandarin (preferably Beijing Mandarin) is the key to survive! I think there is a resident from US, two from UK, one from Hungary, Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand respectively. I would say it’s a pretty diverse environment with lots of opportunities for interactions. I suppose we most united when defending our rights! I’ll come to that in my next entries.

Well, that’s all I can think of for my first post. Behold! More to come…..
